AN ANCIENT PLACE WITH A DEEP HISTORY

The main house , dating back to 1650 , is the beating heart of Podere di Maggio. Around 1680, it served as a customs post, where taxes were paid for the passage of herds along an ancient route connecting Lake Bolsena to Mount Amiata, a sacred mountain rich in symbolism. Situated on a hill with views over the valley , the house was highly sought after for its fertile volcanic soil and the presence of a well of pure water .

THE REBIRTH OF PODERE

Restoring this property has been both a challenge and a great joy. The olive and chestnut trees , once overgrown, have come back to life. The vegetable garden has become a lush corner where real flavors grow, used daily in the kitchen. The renovation of the buildings, made with natural materials and reusing existing ones, has preserved the authentic soul of the place, making it even more special.
